"I am giving up excuses.
I am giving up laziness, and every impulse I have to remain still.
I am giving up the old me in favor of a stronger, healthier, and happier me.
This year I am giving up, giving up"
New Years Resolutions.
What about lifestyle resolution? The quote above is taken from an image, that didn't quite hit home for me...however, the words hit home hard. It just happened to be the beginning of Lent (Ash Wednesday), yesterday, and honestly didn't see me "giving" up anything. However, when I saw the quote above, I was like YES! However, I see it as a resolution for life. How many times have you set a resolution, and three days later, something happened in your life and you gave up, or goals get pushed to the back-burner...again? And so we make an excuse of why we stopped moving toward that very attainable goal? *raising hand*
But I have learned, that excuses DO NOT STOP MY DREAMS! I am learning to work around the excuses! Do I have excuses? Sure! But a great leader has been daily reminding me that we all have excuses to work around the excuses. YES! To hear that she has excuses everyday, and yet has achieved the level of success so far is because she says we need to have a NO EXCUSE MINDSET! *aha* With a new excuse mindset ~ goals will be achieved, success will be attained, dreams will become a reality.
Throughout Ash Wednesday, Some of my favorites of the day that reminded me to work with a no excuse mindset include:
"Life will get in the way. Count on it. Be prepared for it. Maintain focus and press on towards your goal." ~Robert Kiyosaki
"Your level of determination will dictate your level of success." -Kim Kiyosaki
“There are no wrong roads taken to anywhere; there are no accidents. As we go along there are course corrections that we can make, and every experience that we have in our life is there to teach us something...” — Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Some tips that I learned to get around those excuses: Have a very crystal clear goal, and personal development.
Goals: Write them down, get an action plan and get moving!
Personal Development: Feeding the mind positive and encouraging thoughts. Whether you're reading books, listening to audio tapes, or listening to a song. Make sure it puts you in the mindset of growth and happiness.
It will take change. It will make us step outside our comfort zone. It will make us make sacrifices. But in the end, the rewards will be great - what once was outside our comfort zone will now be comfortable and what once we sacrificed we no longer have to - then we go again!!!!
